Shannon Brown brings her dreams and visions to life with colourful and magical creative expressions. Her artworks are infused with healing energy and prayers for the planet. Visonary Artist, Sound Therapist, Vocalist, Spiritual Coach, Arts Educator and Transformational Retreats Facilitator, she is dedicated to working with communities and individuals to support healing, growth and self-awareness.
Shannon combines multiple creative modalities in her healing arts practice. She is trained through The Centre for Medicinal Mindfulness and is trauma informed, completing training with Atira Tan. She is a vocalist and is certified with the Institute of Traditional Medicine in Sound Therapy. She holds a teacher’s degree from Queen’s University in the B.Ed ACE “Artist in Community Education” program, a BFA in Studio Arts from Concordia University, a Certificate of Human Psychology from Bishop’s University and in 2014 interned at the renowned Lincoln Centre Education in NYC. Shannon has studied visionary art with Alex Grey at COSM, the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors, attending their invitation only visionary intensive. Her passions for dreaming and the spiritual realms have brought her to study Shamanic Healing with Liddy Flewelling and Dreaming with Robert Moss. She is an energy worker and Reiki practitioner.
Shannon's visionary art hangs in collections across Canada, Mexico and the US and she has exhibited in over 30 venues from The Canadian Consulate in San Miguel Allende Mexico, and The Edward Day Gallery to The Atlanta Georgia Folk Festival and the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition. An experienced art educator, Shannon has taught creative arts at summer camps, the AGO, through the Eastern Townships and Limestone School Board, at McGill, Bishop’s and Queen’s University, Quebec's Heritage Home drug and alcohol rehab centre and more. Shannon started the Knowlton Summer Art Camp for Kids and has lead hundreds of arts workshops for diverse populations, adults, children and seniors.
Working as the Program Coordinator at Agnes Etherington Art Centre at Queen's University, her passion for healing launched a new focus for Agnes, in the realms of Art and Wellness, gaining national and international recognition for the museum. While there, Shannon designed and managed accessible and diverse programming for school visits, tours, camps, and other innovative public events. As the Audience Engagement Coordinator at the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts and Community Engagement Coordinator of Kingston’s Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning, her community engaged programming brought in thousands of visitors to discover the world of art, music and creativity.
A successful film producer, with her company Elevator Films, Shannon's documentary films on topics such as precognitive dreaming (Seeing 9/11), LGBTQ+ rights and cannabis legalization (Escape to Canada) and laughter (Laughology) have been broadcast in Canada and in 20 countries around the world.
Shannon was raised in an artistic family, her parents, Mary Lou Siemonsen (Florist and Interior Designer) and J. David Brown (Painter) met at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto, then moved to Kingston to become trailblazers in Kingston’s growing art scene. As a teen, Shannon performed with The Young Canadians of the Calgary Stampede as a Senior singer and since then has been the lead vocalist in a number of bands in Montreal, Kingston and Toronto.
